“Mankan”s history goes back to 1992 when Varuzhan Gyurjyan was working at a shopping center in Yerevan, Armenia. Since the center did not have a toy store, the center’s director offered Mr. Varuzhan to open a toy store and become the head of it. Mr. Gyurjyan having only the experience of working at a factory of producing plastic toys during his student years opens the store. He was searching for toys all over Armenia and Russia. In 1993 it was possible to import products from overseas. Some times later, to expand consumption Mr. Varuzhan decides to establish a company of his own. In June 1998, Mankan LLC was established and a Toy store under the same name opened at 24 Mashtots Ave., which provided an opportunity to expand the field of cooperation with the producer-partners directly. The name “Mankan” was chosen very quickly. He wanted the name to be easily acceptable and understandable for the consumers.
